Cairo, the capital city of Egypt, is a vibrant and bustling metropolis with a rich historical and cultural heritage. It serves as a hub for commerce, politics, and culture in the region, attracting visitors from around the world.

History of Cairo Egypt

We remind you of the most famous phrase in the world and always said by the people of the world is " Egypt is the mother of the world" . Surely it is a very common saying and has many explanations from the countries of the world. Egypt is an African country that speaks the Arabic language and then comes the English language in second position and some Italian, French and German.

Egypt is a country located in the Middle East and according to the latest statistics have confirmed that Egypt is the fourteenth country on the world level in terms of the number of inhabitants living in Egypt. The numbers of inhabitants are more than 101 million inhabitants between Christians and Muslims and they live there with all the love and passion for their country.

Egypt is always a very cooperative country for other countries living in the same African continent and a strong bridge through which one can get to the African and Asian continents, so there are many political and geographical and economic advantages to be exploited in Egypt .

Cairo in Egypt , is considered the Egyptian capital and in Arabic is called al-Qahira, which means "the Victorious", is the capital of Egypt, the largest city in all of Africa and the Near East and the thirteenth metropolis in the world in size and number of inhabitants (20 million if the entire metropolitan area is considered).

Egypt struggled for so many years against the enemies who wanted to conquer Egypt but ultimately failed due to the will of its people and the fortress and control of the military army.

The ideal location of Cairo

The city is located in northern Egypt on the right bank of the Nile , just south of where the river splits into the two branches of the Rosetta and Damietta, which form the delta region. It is an administrative center for the inhabitants who want to extract important documents or for those who want to visit a tourist center or a place such as the pyramids and the sphinx , the Khan El Khalili market .

The history of Cairo and things to visit

When Was Cairo Founded

Founded in the Pharaonic era with the name of Heliopolis, this metropolis has gathered over the centuries testimonies and legacies of the most diverse cultures and religions. In addition to the Giza area and the pyramids on the outskirts of the city, the best starting point for a visit that wants to retrace its history in chronological order is certainly the Egyptian Museum , which houses an impressive amount of evidence, a collection of artifacts and vestiges of Egyptian civilization.

Apart from the Egyptian museum there is also the sphinx is the statue which was built in front of the Egyptian pyramids which affirms the prowess and fortitude of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs, you can also visit the Giza tower where you will have the chance to have a panoramic view for most of Cairo.

Nile River and ancient Islamic history and archaeological monuments representing the civilization and history of the Pharaonic era, Nile River on which you can have a nice Nile cruise in Cairo and Luxor , Aswan is always a preferable request for most of the tourists who visit Cairo, mainly Italians.

Cairo is the capital of Egypt and the most famous and popular city in Egypt

The most admired is certainly the exceptional treasure found in the tomb of Tutankhamun , which includes priceless artifacts, such as the golden mask of the pharaoh, a jewel endowed with an almost magnetic force of attraction, capable of diverting the visitor's gaze from any other exhibits.

Equally fascinating are the statues of Rahotep and Nofret, striking for the vivacity and originality of the colors, and the majestic and disturbing statues of the pharaoh Akhenaton. A new section dedicated to the centenary of the museum's inauguration was recently opened. Access to some areas implies the payment of additional costs to the cost of the access ticket.

The ancient area is also worth a visit, where the fortified Roman-Byzantine city of Babylon once stood, home to countless buildings of a religious nature that testify to the great variety of cults that have crossed Egyptian history. Among these, the Hanging Church "El-Muallaqa", the Ben Ezra Synagogue and the Amr Ibn El-As mosque, the oldest in all of Egypt.

Also of great interest is the museum dedicated to the Coptic religion and civilization, a variant of Christianity widespread in Egypt and Ethiopia; the Citadel area, built in 1176 by the famous Saladin and home to numerous mosques.

Among these is the Mohammad Ali Mosque also known as the Alabaster Mosque and finally, the ancient Islamic City, where the famous El- Azhar mosque is located with the largest university dedicated to Islamic studies attached and the Qalaun mosque, a of the most loved and frequented by the inhabitants of Cairo.

A stop at the Khan El Khalili bazaar is not to be missed where, in an atmosphere steeped in oriental aromas, it is possible to find goods of all kinds: from multicolored fabrics to reproductions of artifacts from the Pharaonic period, from glass objects to essences and perfumes kept in pretty flasks.
